The best-selling cars from Chevrolet come in all shapes and sizes, from the comfort-oriented Malibu sedan, ideal for family driving and commuting, to the small and sporty Equinox SUV to the larger mid-size Traverse that comes with a third row. If you're looking for Chevrolet's best-selling truck, you'll find it in the 2020 Silverado.

Chevrolet has a wide range of vehicles, such as compact cars such as the Spark, Sonic, eco-conscious all-electric Bolt EV, along with performance-oriented rides such as the Camaro and the Corvette. However, the vehicles listed below represent the automaker's hottest models of the moment.

Chevrolet Silverado

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is one of the auto manufacturer's best-selling vehicles. In its first quarter sales report for 2020, Chevrolet reported an increase in sales compared with the same time frame in 2019. Chevrolet sold 144,734 Silverado trucks in 2020, compared with 114,314 in 2019. The Silverado is a light-duty pickup truck that comes in several variations.

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado tops out at a maximum available 4x4 towing capacity of 9,300 pounds and a maximum payload of 1,870 pounds. The Silverado is also available with six different powertrains, from a 2.7-liter turbo to a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel and a 6.2-liter V8 engine if you need more power. The base Work Truck with a 2.7-liter turbo engine delivers 310 horsepower along with a towing capacity of 7,100 pounds.

If you want increased towing capacity, one option is the LT with the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine with a capacity of 9,300 pounds. The highest level High Country truck has 420 horsepower, a towing capacity of 12,000 pounds and a 6.2-liter V8 engine. Available trims include the Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country.

Chevrolet Traverse

Although sales for the Traverse slipped slightly to 30,095 in 2020, the Traverse is still one of Chevrolet's best-selling cars. The Traverse is a mid-size SUV that comfortably seats up to eight and has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. It also has plenty of storage space with 98.2 cubic feet for your cargo. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Traverse is rated at 18 miles per gallon in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. According to Chevrolet, the Traverse also received an NHTSA five-star overall vehicle score for safety.

The Traverse is particularly oriented towards families and has plenty of standard and available features. A sliding second-row seat lets you easily access the third row. There's also an integrated hidden storage solution to keep items concealed and easily accessible. Any unwanted noise is kept to a minimum with noise-canceling materials throughout the cabin. Available heated and ventilated front seats add an element of comfort, while the available two-panel power sunroof makes long road trips more enjoyable.

Chevrolet Malibu

Sales of the Malibu also increased this year. Chevrolet reported a total of 35,283 Malibu sales in the first quarter of 2020, compared with 34,197 in the same time period in 2019. The 2020 Malibu is a comfort-oriented car with a maximum available 250-horsepower engine and a maximum cargo capacity of 15.7 cubic feet. You can expect up to 29 city and 36 highway MPG. The Malibu was also named J.D. Power's Highest Ranked Midsize Car in Initial Quality in 2019. Aside from its athletic stance, the Malibu catches the eye with available accents such as LED daytime lights and tail lamps along with dual exhaust outlets.

The 2020 Chevrolet Malibu comes with a choice between a 1.5-liter turbo engine and an available 2.0-liter turbo engine. The smaller engine delivers 29 city and 36 highway MPG. You'll sacrifice a bit of fuel efficiency for a more engaging ride if you opt for the turbo engine. The larger engine gets an estimated 22 city and 32 highway MPG. Features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with an available eight-inch driver information center and wireless charging, make the Malibu an especially appealing choice for families and commuters.

Chevrolet Equinox

Chevrolet sold 73,453 Equinox SUVs in the first quarter of 2020, compared with 88,500 in the first quarter of 2019. Sales may have dropped a bit but the Equinox is still one of Chevrolet's best-selling vehicles. The Equinox is a small SUV with seating for up to five. It also has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds and a maximum cargo capacity of 63.9 cubic feet.

A fuel economy rating of 26 city and 31 highway miles per gallon means you can comfortably take shorter and longer trips without worrying about constantly looking for the next gas station. The Equinox was rated Highest Ranked Compact SUV in Initial and Long-Term Quality by the 2019 J.D. Power Initial Quality survey and received an NHTSA five-star overall vehicle score for safety.

In terms of performance, the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox can be outfitted with an efficient 1.5-liter turbo engine or a more robust 2.0-liter turbo engine with a 252-horsepower output and a 3,500-pound towing capacity. On the LS, LT and Premier models, you can choose to switch into all-wheel-drive for optimal performance on snowy or slippery roads.
